Greater Than/ Less Than

phpThumb_generated_thumbnailjpgScripture for Today: I John 4:4 “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

Math has never been my strong point and that fact becomes very clear to me as I continually mix up these two math symbols!  I suppose these crocodiles are supposed to help me keep it straight but in my thinking they can be read in different ways.  The only way I can keep it straight is to see the small end always pointing to the smaller number, and forget about crocodile mouths!

When the symbol is repeated like this >> than something is much greater!  Today’s verse is about Someone who is much greater than all else.  John is reassuring the believers that though there are false prophets and spirits in the world who would deny that Jesus is God, we have overcome them.  The spirit of the antichrist and the spirit of falsehood are already in the world.  But there is no cause to fear as victory is already ours!  No one is greater than our God.  No one can snatch us out of the Father’s hand as HE is greater than all! (John 10:29)  God’s Spirit resides in every believer and every force of evil and falsehood is “less than” the mighty One!

He is greater than all my fears and doubts.  He is greater than all my insecurities and anxieties.  He is greater than any impossible situation I can ever imagine.  His power is infinite and He calls me His own!  I may get the symbols mixed up but I know in whom I have believed and who is greater than whom!

Thank you Lord, that I can trust in Your amazing power.
