Nowhere To Go

Stuck 12039375_543744192443201_4330025808034457179_nScripture for Today: Psalm 25:12 “Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.”

There do not seem to be very many choices in this scene.  In fact, the only real choice is to turn around and go the other way.  If I cannot turn left or right, or continue straight ahead, then there is really no where to go.  I can just imagine the confusion of the drivers coming to this intersection.  I wonder how many of them would just ignore the signs and do what is most convenient.  I wonder what I would do!

Today’s verse is reassuring.  The Lord promises to instruct those who fear Him in what to choose.  He already does instruct us in His Word on so many matters.  When we obey what is already clear we show that we fear and respect Him.  His response is a promise to guide us even in the smaller details.  When we allow Him to instruct us in our choices, He promises more blessing! (verse 13)

The Lord is so gracious to cover my mistakes and blunders.  I can easily get myself into a scenario like the one pictured where I end up going backwards.  But when I am looking and asking for His guidance, He leads me in not only the right choices but the best ones!  He wants to bless me and He waits for me to acknowledge Him in all my ways, allowing Him to direct my paths. (Prov. 3:6)  His ways are perhaps not the easiest.  They may be on dirt roads rather than paved.  But His ways bring the blessings of peace, joy and closeness to Him!

Lord, show me what to choose.  Guide all my choices today.

  1. Thank you Jan. Life is often so overwhelming with work and other “important” things that I need to remember to stop and seek Gods guidance and not just rely on the direction of my own choosing. I will miss the right road.

  3. God’s timing is perfect. Though I am reading this out of order, it is exactly what I needed to hear. I particularly liked the question, “I wonder how many of them would just ignore the signs…” gave me pause to ponder.
Thanks for your faithfulness to God.
